Documentation

Documentation:
Project Documentation is critical!  Look at the sections below to see how we provide specific Application Documentation.

Functional Specifications:
Good documentation begins with a Functional Spec.  Whether our customer provides the Functional Spec or we develop it, this document is the blueprint for the project design and scope.    By spending the time at the beginning of the project developing the Functional Spec, our customer expectations are fully understood.  Our goal is to provide the system that the customer needs and expects.  The functional Spec provides the guideline for achieving this goal.

User Manuals:
A good Functional Spec becomes part of the final User Manual.  We also add electrical drawings , both hard and electronic copies.  Any Spreadsheets and Flow Diagrams created to develop the application code also become part of the final documentation.  We don't believe in writing "Contractor Code".  We know our customers need to be able to support their systems in-house and we pride ourselves on writing self-documenting code which can be understood by the end user.  Finally, a CD containing all the documentation and code is included in the final binder.

Logic Flow Diagrams:
Logic Flow Diagrams are created using the current version of Visio Pro.  All diagrams will be provided to the customer on the CD in Visio format.  They will also be provided as PDF files so that all customer personnel can open them for reference and study.

Logic I/O Layout:
All Logic I/O Layout is done using the current version of Excel.  These spreadsheets will be provided to the customer on the CD in Excel format.  They will also be provided as PDF files so that all customer personnel can open them for reference and study.

Control Schematics:
All control schematics are developed using the current version of AutoCAD Electrical.  These schematics are a part of the final documentation supplied electronically as DWG or DXF files.  Schematics will be developed on a standard Southern Technical Services, LLC title-block unless otherwise specified by the customer.  Additionally, drawings can be provided in PDF format if required by the customer.
