Hobber Retrofit:
STS is proud to use NUM CNC controls to perform hobber retrofits. NUM has been providing CNC controls for high-end applications for many years now. NUM has developed a control package that is specifically designed for the hobber market. The product name is NUMGear. With the NUMGear control features it is very easy to go from part print to production quickly and accurately.
The NUMGear CNC assists the operator by utilizing extensive online "Help". During set-up and operation the operator can press the help button and get context sensitive help. These help features will lead the operator through the steps necessary to complete the operation. In addition, the machine schematics can be stored on the control for convenient accessibility to maintenance personnel.
The NUMGear CNC has a built-in electronic gear box to fully synchronize the Work table (C-Axis) to the Hob spindle, Axial (Z-Axis) and Tangential (Y-Axis), based upon common gear data input, such as number of gear teeth, helix angle, diametral pitch. Proximity sensor driven Automatic Gear Alignment is also available.
